Coffee Filter Turkey

A silly turkey to top your Thanksgiving Table. A simple semi-circle of brown construction paper and half of a colored coffee filter – add a beak, gobbler and some googly eyes for a colorful Coffee Filter Turkey.

MATERIALS:

Brown construction paper – you should be able to get at least 2 turkeys from one sheet of paper.

Small scraps of construction paper for the beak and gobbler (yellow and red)

Beaded Christmas Tree Craft

Another use for that stash of Mardi Gras beads that you’ve got stored away in your craft closet. The Star of David Craft worked out so well, that we decided to create a Beaded Christmas Tree Craft as well. Just about any sort of recycled lid will work with this craft. For the best look, use the large clear lid that if found on most 32 oz yogurt containers.

Paper Plate Tambourine

Children always enjoy musical instruments. This colorful tambourine is an easy Mardi Gras craft for kids and uses inexpensive paper plates and leftover Mardi Gras beads. The plates for this project came from the Dollar Tree, the 9″ plates come in green, gold, purple and other bright colors with 20 to a package. Since they are sturdy, only one plate is needed for each tambourine.

Paper Plate Snake Craft

This is a simple craft that can keep the kids occupied on a rainy day. Very inexpensive and the kids can be as creative as they like. The head of the snake can either start from the outer edge of the paper plate or end on the inside. Color with paints or markers – decorate with glitter or sequins. A good craft to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as well as a Vacation Bible School unit study or Adam and Eve.
